Exciting New Additions at The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs — Midnight Bourbon Bar Now Open!

Get ready to raise your glass and experience the thrill — the brand-new Midnight Bourbon bar at The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs has officially opened its doors! This is just the beginning of an incredible lineup of upgrades and expansions planned for this year at the region’s ultimate gaming, racing and entertainment hub.

A Stylish New Hub for Fun and Entertainment

Inspired by the popular main bar at The Mint Gaming Hall Cumberland in Williamsburg, Kentucky, Midnight Bourbon is more than just a bar — it’s an experience. Imagine a sleek, crescent-shaped full-service bar, backed by a stunning 16’x19’ video wall ready to broadcast your favorite sporting events or showcase breathtaking live entertainment every Friday and Saturday. The vibe is elevated with a cozy lounge area designed for ultimate comfort and spectacular views — perfect for catching the big game or enjoying a night out with friends.

Named for Racing Legend and Built for Celebration

Named after a legendary racehorse campaigned by co-managing partner Ron Winchell, Midnight Bourbon replaces the old Franklin venue’s circular Center Bar and smaller stage. It’s part of a larger, exciting transformation that includes an 18,000-square-foot expansion featuring the new Circa Sports Kentucky sportsbook (set to soft-open in mid-July and celebrate its grand opening in August), plus additional horse-racing terminals and the delicious Pie Rollers pizza outlet.

Betting on the Future of Sports and Gaming

The new sportsbook promises to be a game-changer, revolutionizing how fans watch and wager on sporting events. With cutting-edge screens and a lively atmosphere, it’s destined to become the go-to spot for sports enthusiasts across the region.

A First-Class Racing Experience

But that’s not all. The Mint is also wrapping up a stunning second-floor renovation of its simulcasting area. Opening mid-August, this sleek space will feature the Bit and Barrel bar and lounge, boasting over 30 massive video monitors, a VIP club called Onyx for top-tier players, cozy carrel seating and a non-smoking zone with views overlooking the racecourse. It’s the perfect place for horse-racing fans to indulge in their passion all year round.

A Destination for Everyone

Since Ron Winchell, Marc Falcone, and their partners acquired Kentucky Downs in 2019, The Mint has undergone a remarkable transformation—expanding, upgrading and elevating the guest experience at every turn. As Johan Mirkovic, VP and General Manager, puts it, “This latest chapter offers something for everyone. We’re betting that Circa Sports Kentucky will change the way the region watches sports, and Midnight Bourbon will quickly become the premier bar between Nashville and Bowling Green.”

More Than Just Gaming — A Year-Round Entertainment Hub

Of course, Kentucky Downs isn’t just about gaming — it’s a year-round destination for horse-racing fans and thrill-seekers alike. The Mint Gaming Hall welcomes guests 21 and over, but the Kentucky Downs race meet is open to all ages (with some restrictions). From ticketed dining and outdoor tailgating at the top of the stretch to live races on select dates from August 28 through September 10, there’s something for everyone.

Upcoming Excitement and Live Music

And if you’re a music lover, mark your calendar! The Mint Event Center is hosting some fantastic performances, including the Gatlin Brothers on July 5 and the high-energy Fortunate Son tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival on August 2.

Your next adventure awaits at The Mint Kentucky Downs — where world-class racing, cutting-edge gaming, and unforgettable entertainment come together! Don’t miss our free fireworks show July 2!
