Important update to KY HBPA College Day, now on Sunday Aug. 10
Horsemen and racing industry participants: Because rescheduled College Day — now on Sunday August 10 — comes after some students have left for college, for this year only we’ll permit parents working in the industry (must show valid Kentucky racing license) to sign up a child who is enrolled in college full-time. This only applies to the last race drawings Aug. 10 for the $2,000 D. Wayne Lukas Memorial Scholarship, the iPad/airPods package and the $150 Amazon gift card.
The parent MUST show proof of their child’s full-time college enrollment (ie copy of college I.D., acceptance letter and/or course schedule AND a copy of child’s driver’s license). Children of Ellis Park and CDI employees are not eligible.
The last-race industry drawings are restricted to full-time college students who work in the horse industry or who have a parent who is a Kentucky racehorse owner, trainer, jockey, exercise rider, groom, hot walker, veterinarian, blacksmith, vendor, equine therapist or other thoroughbred participant with a valid Kentucky thoroughbred racing license.
Full-time students entering the regular drawings still must register in person and be present to win. |
