(Stats still need to be updated after this week’s activities…coming soon)

Here’s our plays at the ole’ “Pea Patch” on this beautiful Saturday afternoon that will start in the a.m. in the Central Time Zone. First post at Ellis Park is 11:45 a.m. CT:

st: 3-4/1-5//6/2…Medaglia Forever (3) gets the nod in the ole’ lid-lifter at the ole’ “Pea Patch” today. This 3YO daughter of Medaglia d’Oro is out of a Stakes winner, whom you may remember, so to speak — Forever Unbridled. Nice. This gal has run 4 times. Second twice. Broodmare to be would like to etch out a win or two for the breeder/owner. Comes in of a nice 2nd. Big shot here. Little Prankster (4) will not make this easy for the top pick. This one is a daughter of Uncle Mo and out of a Stakes winner, too, who has throw 2 winners from 3 starters and a Stakes winner. This one ran very nice on debut on June 3. Big time rider up. Oooohhhh. I bet the 4 — take note — to win/place/show and then box the 3-4 sternly in the exactas. I will key the 4 over/under the 3-1-5 in two smaller units.

nd: 9-6/5-11/4/7-8-1-3/2-10…Let’s Go Mark (9) is a 2YO son of American Freedom and comes in here off two solid efforts to start the career. With any improvement, should be close at wire time. Big time rider returns. Barn wins with .11% of the last 166 2YOs. In a Jam (6) is a first timer who merits some consideration. New sire on the scene this year and this one has been working very well. Top rider, who is winning at a .31% clip this meet after 36 mounts, could make this one interesting. I bet the 6 — take note — across the board and then box the 9-6 in the exactas. I will key the 6 over/under the 9-5-11-4-7-8-1-3 in two smaller units.

rd: 1-6-5/4/8-3/2//7…Roja Ligera (1) gets the blinkers on for the first time and the barn wins with .13% of the last 79 to get the shades. Drops to half the asking price here and the barn wins with .29% when dropping this much at one time, too. Big threat. Huge rider switch. Sharp work on June 16. Ship It (6) goes for owner-trainer Steve Asmussen. Ever heard of this cat? Winning at a .28% rate this meet after 29 starts. This one drops another rung here and should be competitive. I bet the 1 across the board and double down on the win wager. I will box the top 3 numbers in the exactas. I will key the 1 over/under the 6-5-4-8-3-2 in two smaller units.

th: 7-6/(12)-(13)-(14)-2-5/3/(11)-1-4/8-9…This is the first sod race of the day and it will be contested at 11/16-miles. I saddle up with Sahlabiya (7). This gal has never missed the board in 5 starts and ran huge at KEE on April 28 when getting blinkers for the first time. Look out here. Look. Out. Callie’s Grit (6) has three runner-ups in four starts. Have to respect and gets a huge rider switch here, too. Threat. I bet the 7 across the board and double down on the win wager. Triple down, is possible. I box the 7-6 sternly in one exacta, and then key the 7 over/under the 6-12-13-14-2-5-3 in two smaller units.

th: 2/6-1/3/5/4…First Key Play of Day comes here with Pigalle (2). This 3YO daughter of the highly underrated sire Blame comes in off a nice 2nd at Churchill Downs on June 1. Goes for one of the best young trainers in the game today, who wins withy .25% of the last 77 to make the 2nd start off the layoff. I bet the 2 across the board and then double down on  the win wager. I will key the 2 over/under the 6-1-3-5-4 in the exactas. More with the 6-1 than the rest.

th: 8-7-6/2/5-1//3-4…Long Crow (8) gets the nod here. Son of Keen Ice drops another rung in the claiming ladder and did run a respectable 2nd last time out. Top rider returns and has teamed up to go 2-2-1 in the last 8 for this barn. Madison Luvs Duke (7) has hit the board in 4 of the last 5 and broke the MCL by 22 lengths at the Fair Grounds on Jan,. 29. That is 22 lengths. Really? Top barn has won with .23% of 172 runners this year. Respect. I bet the 8 across the board and then box the top 3 numbers in the exactas. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under the 2 in two smaller units.

th: 4/8-3-5-6-9/2/1/7…Grand Love (4) is my second Key Play of the Day. This 3YO daughter of Gun Runner has run in five straight Graded Stakes events and has held her own. Gets Lasix for the first time and the barn wins with a whopping .25% of the last 235 to get the anti-bleeder. Huge rider switch here, too. Lots to like. Lots. I bet the 4 across the board and double/triple/quadruple down on the win wager. I will key the 4 over.nder the 8-3-5-6-9-2 in the exactas. Stern with the 8-3-5-6-9.

th: 4-10-6/1-5-7-2/(11)-(12)/3/9…The second of three grass races and this one will be run at the 1-mile distance. I go with Principe d’Oro (4). This daughter of a Stakes winner has run on sod only once before and the dam has no grass winners. But? This one ran a huge 2nd at KEE on the dirt and has speed galore. Dangerous. Blue Devil (10) has run on the sod four times and has 2 runner-ups and a third. More results. Well bred, too and the dam has thrown a grass winner. Dunedin (6) is a possible Upset Alert. This 3YO son of Munnings has gone 1-1-2 in 7 grass starts. Rider is best on grass. I bet the 10 — take note — across the board and double down on the win wager. I box the top 3 numbers in the exactas. I will key the 4-10 over/under the 6-1-5-7-2 in two smaller units.

th: 2/5-1/6//3-4…G3 Chicago Stakes…Matareya (2) is world class filly. World Class. Has already won over $1.5 million and has gone 3-0-1 in 4 starts at this distance. Enough. Said. I bet the 2 to win and then key the 2 over the 5-1-6. Definitely use the 6.

th: 8/7-10-(12)-3/5-(11)…The finale isa 5.5-grass sprint and I go with my last Key Play of the Day. Love Eternal Bliss (8). This 3YO son of Munnings ran very well in the first start at Gulfstream Park in March. If ready off the bench for a highly underrated trainer? Look out. I bet the 8 across the board and then double down on the win wager. I will key the 8 over/under the 7-10-12-3-5-11 in the exactas. More with the 7-10-12-3.
