From the Churchill Downs Media Team:
There will be a mandatory payout of the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot, which has a carryover of $71,694. Plus, there is a carryover of $74,372 on the late 5-cent Pick 5 because no one had five winners in Friday’s early Pick 5.
Saturday night’s Single 6 will span Races 4-9 starting at 7:26 p.m. (all times Eastern), while the late Pick 5 will cover Races 7-11 starting at 9:05 p.m. The first race on the 11-race card is 6 p.m.
Both multi-race wagers feature a 15% takeout, which is among the lowest takeout races in American racing.
A trio of stakes races – the $150,000 Ack Ack presented by GE Appliances (GIII) (Race 7); $125,000 Jefferson Cup (Race 8); and $250,000 Lukas Classic presented by Budweiser (GIII) (Race 9) – is showcased in both the Single 6 and late Pick 5.
A total of 59 horses are scheduled to compete in the Single 6 sequence for an average of 9.8 horses per race. There are 48 horses in the late Pick 5 for a 9.6 horse-per-race average.
