From the Churchill Downs Media Team:
In a press release that was issued to the general public early on Thursday, Churchill Downs and Turfway Park announced that the Jeff Ruby Steaks and all other races to be held at the Northern Kentucky track will be conducted without spectators and fans.
However, the upcoming Kentucky Derby — which will be held on the first Saturday in May for the 146th time — continues to be planned as usual.
Churchill Downs issued this response to those questions:
Preparations to host Kentucky Derby 146 on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs are still moving forward. With the event still seven weeks away, a decision will be made closer to that date, with respect to postponing the event until later in the year, using the most recent information while working with and seeking guidance from public health experts and authorities.
