GRADE I WINNER TROUBLESHOOTING TAKES ON DEFENDING CHAMP JOE SHIESTY IN $225,000 MIGHTY BEAU
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Saturday, May 30, 2026) – Donamire Farm’s Grade I-winning homebred Troubleshootingreturns to action in next Saturday’s 10th running of the $225,000 Mighty Beau (Listed) at Churchill Downs where he’ll face a talented field of turf sprinters including last year’s defending champ Joe Shiesty.
Contested at five furlongs on the Matt Winn Turf Course, the Mighty Beau is carded as Race 10 on the 11-race program. First post is 12:45 p.m. (all times Eastern) with the Mighty Beau going to post at 5:28 p.m.
Trained by Greg Foley, Troubleshooting scored a half-length victory in the Franklin Simpson Stakes (GI) at Kentucky Downs. Six weeks later, the son of Not This Time returned to the winner’s circle in the Bryan Station (GIII) at Keeneland. Jockey Tyler Gaffalione has the mount in the Mighty Beau from post No. 2.
Foley won the inaugural running of the Mighty Beau with Steve Vanovich, Steve Andriot, Brad Cain and P.J. Herald’s Latent Revenge.
Chief among his rivals in the race appears to be Foster Family Racing, Lonnie Reynolds, Vicki Mills and Don Coomes’ Joe Shiesty, who returns to defend his title in the race. The speedy Eric Foster trainee went gate-to-wire in last year’s event to defeat Arrest Me Red by a neck. Overall, the 5-year-old gelded son of Air Force Blue has tallied seven wins from 20 starts while banking his connections $946,927. He’ll be ridden in Saturday’s race by Fernando De La Cruz out of post 5.
