Flying P Stable and R. A. Hill Stable’s Lone Rock, who emerged as the top older dirt marathon runner in North America last year, headlines a field of five entered Thursday for Tuesday’s fourth running of the $160,000 Isaac Murphy Marathon Overnight Stakes at Churchill Downs.

The Isaac Murphy, run at 1 ½ miles, will highlight a nine-race program that begins at 12:45 p.m. (all times Eastern) for Champions Day presented by TwinSpires. The Isaac Murphy will be the afternoon’s second race with a 1:15 post time.

Trained by Robertino Diodoro, Lone Rock compiled a 9-7-2-0 record in 2021 that included a 3 ¾-length romp in this race last spring and culminated with a victory in the 1 5/8-mile Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (GII) on the Breeders’ Cup undercard at Del Mar in November.

Ramon Vazquez has the mount Tuesday and will break from the rail.

The field for the Isaac Murphy, with riders from the rail out: Lone Rock (Vazquez); Current(Chris Emigh); Celerity (Vincent Cheminaud); Tenfold (Joel Rosario); and Hozier (Flavien Prat).
