SCONSIN MADE 2-1 FAVORITE OVER LADY ROCKET, BELL’S THE ONE IN GRADE III, $200,000 CHICAGO STAKESLloyd Madison Farm’s multiple graded stakes winning mare Sconsin was made the slight 2-1 favorite over the speedy Lady Rocket (5-2) and Grade I winner Bell’s the One (7-2) in Saturday’s $200,000 Chicago Stakes (Grade III) at Churchill Downs.

The seven-furlong Chicago will go as Race 9 of 10 with a post time of 4:55 p.m. First post is 12:45 p.m.

Sconsin, trained by Greg Foley, returned from an eight-month freshening for a three-quarters of a length win in last month’s $200,000 Winning Colors (GIII), her local prep for the Chicago.

The one change Sconsin will have Saturday is her jockey. Churchill Downs leading rider Tyler Gaffalione is scheduled to ride White Abarrio in the $500,000 Ohio Derby (GIII) at Thistledown and will not be able to ride the 5-year-old Include mare. Gaffalione was named on Sconsin but Foley has not committed to which rider will take his place.

Foley will join the cast of “Inside Churchill Downs” Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN 680/105.7 to talk about his prized mare. Those outside the Louisville can listen live on www.espnlouisville.com.

Frank Fletcher Racing Operations and Ten Strike Racing’s speedy Grade III winner Lady Rocket was made the second choice on Mike Battaglia’s morning line odds. Trained by Brad Cox, Lady Rocket finished third last time out in the $200,000 Ruffian (GII) at Belmont. Previously, the Tale of the Cat mare sports front running victories in the $250,000 Go For Wand Handicap (GIII) and $100,000 Pumpkin Pie. The six-time winner schooled in the Churchill Downs paddock Thursday and is expected to show her natural early speed, according to Cox.

Here’s the field in order of post positions (with jockey, trainer and morning line odds): Bayerness (Luis Saez, Cherie DeVaux, 5-1); Pennybaker (James Graham, Mike Stidham, 8-1); Lady Rocket (Ricardo Santana Jr., Cox, 5-2); Bell’s the One (Corey Lanerie, Neil Pessin, 7-2); Kalypso (Gerardo Corrales, Steve Asmussen, 15-1); Four Graces (Julien Leparoux, Ian Wilkes, 8-1); and Sconsin (Gaffalione, Foley, 2-1).
