Well, it can’t get much tighter than this…

After Sunday’s racing was done and said for, both Colby Hernandez and Migue Mena were tied at the top of the Jockey Standings at the current Fair Grounds race meeting. As in dead heat. As in no separation. As in deadlocked.

Going into this week’s racing action, which will break for the Christmas holidays, Hernandez has put up a record of 17 wins, 18 seconds and 13 thirds in 108 mounts to date. His horses have earned a total of $488,160 in purse money.

Not to be outdone, Miguel Mena, who rides first saddle for trainer Tom Amoss and others, has 17 wins, 12 seconds and 6 thirds. His mounts have amassed a total of $483,100 in winnings.
