(Brad Cox still clings to slim margin in race for the Trainer’s Title at the Fair Grounds)

There are 10 racing days left in this year’s mammoth meet at the Fair Grounds, and the race for the Trainer’s Title appears that it is headed down to the wire.

Brad Cox, who has been in the lead nearly from the starting gate, continues to hold onto a slim margin. After Sunday’s races were over, Cox had totaled 47 wins, with 20 seconds and 20 thirds from 157 starters. That amounts to a win percentage of .30, while his “In The Money” percentage is a stellar .55.

So far, Cox’s horses have amassed $1.421 million in purses, and he holds a huge edge in that category, with a lead of about $500.000

Sharp, on the other hand, is running a solid second. He has 44 winners, 27 seconds and 24 thirds in 171 starts. That amounts to .26% winners, and .56% “In The Money.”

The lead for those two is substantial. The third leading trainer this meet in terms of wins is Al Stall, Jr., who has 25 wins, 21 seconds and 12 thirds in 121 races.
