From the Keeneland Media Team:

Multiple Grade 3 winner Elysea’s World (IRE) tops a field of 13 fillies and mares entered Thursday for Sunday’s 28th running of the $125,000 Rood & Riddle Dowager (G3) going 1½ miles on the grass.

The Rood & Riddle Dowager will go as the eighth race on Sunday’s nine-race program with a 4:57 p.m. ET post time. First post Sunday is 1:05 p.m.

Purchased for $500,000 at the 2018 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, Elysea’s World comes off a third-place finish in the Rodeo Drive (G1) at Santa Anita on Sept. 28.

In her career, the 6-year-old mare has won four Grade 3 stakes and placed in nine other graded events. Now trained by Richard Baltas, Elysea’s World has posted a 6-1-0-1 mark this year for the partnership headed by Abbondanza Racing.

Javier Castellano has the mount on Elysea’s World and will break from post position 10.

The field for the Rood & Riddle Dowager, with riders and weights from the inside, is: Ambitious Moon (Steve Bahen, 121 pounds), Lemoona (Joe Bravo, 121), Gentle Ruler (Chris Landeros, 123), Over Thinking (Corey Lanerie, 121), Icy Calm(Cory Orm, 118), Beach Flower (Gabriel Saez, 121), Sea Dream (BRZ) (Julien Leparoux, 121), Touriga (BRZ) (Trevor McCarthy, 121), Pantsonfire (IRE) (Brian Hernandez Jr., 123), Elysea’s World (Castellano, 123), Decorating (Feargal Lynch, 121), Get Explicit (Ricardo Santana Jr., 121), Vevina (Tyler Gaffalione, 121).

The horse broke well today,” Gaffalione said. “I had the horse inside, Dunph, going to the lead and then (Gun It) showed a little bit of speed. When I saw they were intent on going I just tried to get him back and got him to relax. He came back to me nicely and settled well down the backside. Got a little keen going into the far turn and wanted to move a little early. But I didn’t want to take too much away from him so I tried to sit as long as I could. He was waiting on horses down the lane but I kept him at task and there was plenty of horse there.”

“Mark (Casse, the trainer) and his team have done a great job,” Gaffalione said. “They’ve had a ton of confidence in this horse the whole way. It’s just an honor to be able to ride the horse. He’s just so professional, trains great and he’s a pleasure to be around.”
