Fasig-Tipton has catalogued an additional three entries for its 2019 Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale supplemental catalogue.  These entries may now be viewed online and in the equineline catalogue app.

These new entries are catalogued as hips 529-531:

  • POINT OF ENTRY YEARLING COLT: (Hip 529): Yearling colt by POINT OF ENTRY, multiple Grade 1 winner and a top second crop sire in 2018.  Top colts by POINT OF ENTRY include multiple graded stakes winner ANALYZE IT, recently third in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1).  He is consigned by Brookdale Sales, agent.
  • HOLDERS SEASON (Hip 530): Young daughter of SPEIGHTSTOWN is a half-sister to CHAMPAGNE ANYONE, who is entered in this Saturday’s Forward Gal S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park.  Her dam is a half-sister to Champion MISS LOREN and to group/graded stakes winners MILANO PHONE and MR. LIGHT.  Also a debut winner at two, HOLDERS SEASON is offered in foal to VANCOUVER (AUS) by Legacy Bloodstock, agent.
  • LA MANTA GRIS (Hip 531): Five-year-old daughter of LEMON DROP KID is a multiple stakes placed earner of more than $200,000.  Her dam is a full sister to multiple Grade 1 winner HONEY RYDER, and a half-sister to graded stakes winner CUANDO PUEDE and stakes winner CUANDO. Her immediate family includes multiple graded stakes winners DOMINUS and HIT IT RICH.  She is consigned as a racing/broodmare prospect by Lane’s End, agent.
  • FIRST KISS (Hip 520): Young, 5YO Smart Strike mare is being sold as a broodmare prospect only, but coming off an impressive victory at Turfway Park. Ran over synthetic, turf and dirt and placed over all three surfaces. Daughter of a Graded Stakes winner BRIDGE GAME, who is by Giant’s Causeway, and from the female family of TIZNOW. The Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale will be held on Monday and Tuesday, February 4-5, in Lexington, Kentucky.

The horse broke well today,” Gaffalione said. “I had the horse inside, Dunph, going to the lead and then (Gun It) showed a little bit of speed. When I saw they were intent on going I just tried to get him back and got him to relax. He came back to me nicely and settled well down the backside. Got a little keen going into the far turn and wanted to move a little early. But I didn’t want to take too much away from him so I tried to sit as long as I could. He was waiting on horses down the lane but I kept him at task and there was plenty of horse there.”

“Mark (Casse, the trainer) and his team have done a great job,” Gaffalione said. “They’ve had a ton of confidence in this horse the whole way. It’s just an honor to be able to ride the horse. He’s just so professional, trains great and he’s a pleasure to be around.”
