Had a productive night at the new and improved Turfway Park on Friday night. Cashed tickets on our top picks in 6 of the 8 races. Had a Key Play of the Night winner out of two. And, cashed exactas for $20.80, $18.10, $48.20, and $14.40 for each $1 played.

Even cashed on a 4-for-5 Pick 5 ticket. Got my money back on that bad boy.

We are back for more racing action tonight. Here’s a look at our best looks:

1st: 1-6-5/7/9-8-2…The Sheik of Araby (1) is a NY-bred who will drop from the $15,000 price tag to the $7,500 level tonight. Barn wins with .50% when dropping this much at once. Ran a solid 4th here last time out, while trying to rally late. The extra distance may help in this one. Barn wins with .24% over the AW surfaces, and that’s with a sample size of 42. Nice. Classified Info (6) spit the bit in the last one out here on Dec. 4 in a rather disappointing effort as the favorite. Drops in class for this one. Barn wins with .25% when dropping this much and with .25% when returning as a beaten favorite. Should show more tonight and could be the one to beat. Subliminalcriminal (5) drops from the $20,000 ranks for this one. Gets a top rider in the saddle here. Work here on Dec. 4 was spot on. Chance. I bet the 1-6 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exacta. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under 7 in two smaller units.

2nd: 10/11-2-4-1…I really don’t know here, peeps. Very rarely do I ever give up, but this may be one of those times. Seriously. I will go with Isallinthenotes (10) and I will go so strongly that I make it our first Key Play of the Night. This Washington-bred filly (yep, Washington-bred) will get the blinkers for the first time. She will drop from $50,000 price point to the $7,500 here. The barn wins with .27% when dropping this much and she had a nice work last time she has a published work. Gets an established rider, too. If not here, I’m open to suggestions. I bet the 10 to win/place and then key the 10 over/under the “all button.” All button for me in the horizontals.

3rd: 11-6-3/7/9-8-4/1-(14)-12/2-(13)…Dance or Stroll (11) ran here just 9 days ago and finished a decent 4th. Was beaten 81/2 lengths that night, but was facing tougher. Drops today and the barn wins with .21% when returning as a beaten favorite. Jockey is 2-2-1 in the last 8 mounts and has a win for this barn operation in the last 4 mounts, too. Over the AW surfaces, this barn wins at a .22% clip. My pick. Faith Factor (6) drops in class for this one, too, and the same barn will saddle this one, too. Ran here 10 days ago and was third in that one. In 7 races over an AW surface, this one has gone 2-1-2. Chance. Radiantrithym (3) was claimed just two starts ago and now has won two in a row. Has hit the board in the last 3 outs, and has been in the top 3 finishers in 8 of the last 9. Hard to dismiss. I bet the 11-6 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exacta. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under the 7 in two smaller units.

4th: 9-8/3-6/12-7-4-1/10-5…Money Inthe Starrs (9) drops to the bargain bin tonight after a solid performance at Churchill Downs last time out against much tougher. This will be the 3rd start off a layup, and the barn wins with .19% of them. Trainer wins with .27% when dropping this much in class, too. Ran a real good one against Hetty G two starts back and that one was a 3-time winner earlier this year. My pick. Two Sixtyone (8) drops in class and will get the 2nd start for the new barn operation, too. If she can return to the effort two times ago? Watch out. I bet the 9 to win/place/show and then box the top 2 in one exacta. I will key the 9 over/under all the numbers listed…More with the 8-3-6. Less with the 12-7-4-1. Lesser with the 10-5.

5th: 2-10/6-9-1/8-11-5/12-3…Thrill Ride (2) gets the top of the ticket in this spot. The 3YO Candy Ride colt tired in the last out, but gets back to a sprint distance here. Barn wins with .20% when they go sprint to a route and then back to a sprint distance. Jockey and trainer have teamed up to go 3-2-1 in the last 8 tries. Barn has gone 2-2-0 in 5 starts here in the Holiday meet. Work on Dec. 5 sets up nicely. Sag Harbor (10) moves up in class after running a solid 2nd at the MCL $30,000 tag last time out. Barn wins with .20% of those going from dirt to the AW, too. Been training here, as well. Of the first timers entered here, I may give a tinge to Another Hero (8), at a price. This one is a $250,000 purchase at the KEE September Yearling Sale in 2018. Makes debut now for owners Gary and Mary West. Worth a shot. I bet the 2-8 across the board and then box the 2-8-10 in one exacta. I will key the 2-8 over/under the 10-6-9-1-11-5 in two smaller units.

6th: 1-(14)-7/10-6-4/12-5-(13)/9-3-8-2…Counter Offer (1) could help give this trainer/rider, father-in-law/son-in-law combo a good night. This one ran 3rd last time out and now cuts back to a more manageable distance. Had a win at both Churchill Downs and Saratoga earlier this year. Capable. Barn hot right now. Pioneer Man (14) is a must use for me, if the 4YO son of Pioneerof the Nile draws in from the AE List. Barn winning at a .29% clip this meet in 7 tries and this one is coming out of a G3 at Woodbine last time out. A specialist over the AW. Haunt (7) has not run well in the two starts this year, but is capable of so much more than what he is showing. Good add some spice to the odds rack. Could really like this AW surface. Chance. I bet the 1-14 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exacta. I will key the 1-14 over/under the 7-10-6-4-12-5-9-3 in two smaller units. If the 14 does NOT get in, I sub out the 14 and put the 7 in that spot for the over/under plays.

7th: 10-11-3/8-1-9-4-5/6-7/2…What a well-balanced, deep and talented field. Wide open affair on paper, but I will give the edge to the Mark Casse filly who is moving up in class after breaking a condition with a win last time out at Woodbine. No Mo Temper (10) has run three really good ones in a row over the turf. Has never been on the AW, but should shift to that surface easily enough, since she has been training over it in Canada. Daughter of Uncle Mo cost $210,000 at the 2017 KEE September Yearling Sale and now has a 2-3-2 mark in 10 lifetime starts. Faces tougher and more experienced winners here, but the talent is here. Julia’s Ready (11) is my next Longshot Special of the Night. This 4YO daughter of More Than Ready should fit this surface perfectly, and ran a much better than looked third last time out at Churchill Downs. Barn is 0-for-12 when moving from the dirt to the AW surface, but look for this one to be a tough out here. Moonlight Rain (3) is the “other” Casse horse in this field. Has 6 races over the AW surface to date. Has a 3-2-1 mark when moving over it. Gets the hottest rider in the Commonwealth right now. Big shot. I bet the 10-3 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exacta. I will key the 10-3 over/under the 11-8-1-9-4-5-6 in two smaller units.

8th: 9-8-4/11-2/7-5…Winging Ways (9) drops all the way to the bargain bin for a top trainer and a better person — who certainly deserves a little good luck in this spot tonight. If this one can duplicate the race two back at KEE? Look out. Gets a veteran rider who fits this barn operation just perfectly. Work here on Dec. 5 was good enough to best these. Zoodles (8) drops a rung in the MCL ladder, too. Barn is winning at a .22% clip this year with 82 starters. Rider is 0-for-21 to begin this meet, but has some talent and could boost this one’s chances. Has AW experience. Colonel’s Map (4) draws the interest of the meet’s top rider and that could be enough to pick this one’s head up in this spot, too. Barn has won 2 of the first 3 tries during this Holiday Meet. I bet the 9-4 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exacta. I will key the 9-4 over/under the 8-11-2-7-5 in two smaller units.

Good Luck & All the Best / Gene
