And, just like that…

(Snap your fingers, please.)

It was over.

As if there was any doubt, jockey Albin Jimenez is now well on his way to winning yet another riding championship at Turfway Park. What looked like a potential “horse race” amongst riders just a week ago, is now gone with the Northern Kentucky winds.

After Saturday’s races were logged and booked, Jimenez has now tallied 19 trips to the winner’s circle, along with 8 seconds and 7 thirds in 80 mounts this meet.

That gives the jockey a 10-win cushion over his nearest competitor — Joseph D. Ramos — was had a record of 10-5-8 in 55 rides so far.

A win farther back in third is Gerardo Corrales, who has a 9-9-5 record in just 37 mounts.
