From the Keeneland Media Team:

Horses from Keeneland sales and racing – led by trainer Wesley Ward’s Bound for Nowhere – are entered in Saturday races on the final day of competition at Royal Ascot in England.

Bound for Nowhere is to run in the Diamond Jubilee (G1), which awards the winner a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1), for his third start at Royal Ascot. The 5-year-old son of The Factor was fourth in the 2017 Commonwealth Cup (G1) and third in last year’s Diamond Jubilee.

Ward, who has 10 wins at Royal Ascot, owns Bound for Nowhere, who sold for $310,000 to Cromwell Bloodstock at Keeneland’s 2015 September Yearling Sale. He won Keeneland’s Shakertown (G2) in 2018 and was second in the race in April in his 2019 debut.

The leading trainer during Keeneland’s 2019 Spring Meet, Ward on Saturday also will send out Ice Wine Stables’ Joker On Jack in the Chesham for 2-year-olds.

The horse broke well today,” Gaffalione said. “I had the horse inside, Dunph, going to the lead and then (Gun It) showed a little bit of speed. When I saw they were intent on going I just tried to get him back and got him to relax. He came back to me nicely and settled well down the backside. Got a little keen going into the far turn and wanted to move a little early. But I didn’t want to take too much away from him so I tried to sit as long as I could. He was waiting on horses down the lane but I kept him at task and there was plenty of horse there.”

“Mark (Casse, the trainer) and his team have done a great job,” Gaffalione said. “They’ve had a ton of confidence in this horse the whole way. It’s just an honor to be able to ride the horse. He’s just so professional, trains great and he’s a pleasure to be around.”
