Riley Mott talks about having Arkansas Derby contender Rocket Can at Oaklawn Park for his dad, Hall of Famer Bill Mott, as well as starting his own stable.
Prominent horse owner (and North Little Rock-based businessman and car dealership magnate) Frank Fletcher was on hand Thursday morning at Oaklawn Park to watch his star 3-year-old colt Rocket Can school in the paddock for Saturday’s Arkansas Derby. Catching up with him back at the barn, Frank says how Rocket Can used races in Florida (a win in the Grade 3 Holy Bull and second in the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth behind 2–year-old champion Forte) to get ready for the “big race” – the Arkansas Derby. Oh yes, the Kentucky Derby will be in the cards as well with a big effort.
