Ellis Park holds moment of silence for Robby Albarado

Ellis Park held a moment of silence after Friday’s sixth race for former riding great Robby Albarado, who died Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., after undergoing a heart procedure. Ellis’ longtime bugler/trumpeter Bret Birkhead played My Old Kentucky Home. Afterward, we spoke with jockey Brian Hernandez, a close friend who considered Albarado a mentor.
