ELLIS PARK MOVES FRIDAY CARD INTACT

TO THURSDAY, JULY 9 DUE TO EXTREME HEAT

Meet now scheduled to start Saturday, July 4

HENDERSON, Ky. (Wednesday, July 1, 2026) – Ellis Park has moved Friday’s card in its entirety to Thursday, July 9 due to excessive heat forecasted for the Henderson, Ky. area. Scratch time for the Thursday, July 9 races will be July 8 at NOON CENTRAL.

The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for the area through 8 p.m. CT Friday, with heat index values of 107 degrees.

The Ellis Park meet now will begin on Saturday, July 4. There are no changes to Saturday-Monday’s schedule, with first posts of 11:50 a.m. Central each day. Previously, Ellis Park officials announced Thursday’s card would shift in its entirety to Monday due to the excessive temperatures.
