From the KY HBPA:

We need your immediate help as SB 120 goes to House vote
ACTION REQUIRED! Contact Your State Representatives TODAY to Vote YES on SB 120 to Keep Historical Horse Racing in Kentucky.
Senate Bill 120 passed the Senate Chamber Tuesday and the House’s Licensing & Occupations committee this morning and now heads to the full House for a vote tomorrow (Thursday). We cannot take anything for granted in this crucial vote. Join your fellow horsemen in doing your part to protect the industry we all love. As we enter the final furlong, we need you to contact your state representatives today. Legislators must continue to hear directly from you. Thousands of Kentuckians have been sharing their stories of how they’ve been impacted by the horse industry and it’s making a difference.
If you’ve previously sent a message through K.E.E.P.’s Voter Voice advocacy tool, please send it again today. Opponents are portraying this as a bailout for the wealthy. Let your representative know that HHR benefits tens of thousands of ordinary people and their families. It’s a racing product that cannot be held without the track also conducting live racing.
Historical horse racing is an integral part of our equine industry and has made Kentucky a world-class racing destination. HHR isn’t new – it’s been around for nearly a decade and during that time, has led to the creation of thousands of new jobs and millions of dollars in economic development. SB 120 simply maintains the status quo and ensures historical horse racing facilities can stay operational, now and in the years to come, and continue benefiting the commonwealth and the people who live here.
Time is of the essence. Please reach out to your legislators in the House and ask them to vote YES on SB 120 to protect jobs, investment and economic development – and join us in spreading the word on social media. We’ve made it easy for you to contact your legislators, and we encourage you to reach out today. Thank you for continuing to stand up for the thousands of Kentuckians who make up our horse industry.
