McLean’s Donation Play of the Day: 6th Race at Horseshoe Indy

We are back.

And, we are hoping to pounce with some new, exciting, and winning picks to help build our “Horseshoe Indianapolis Donation Play of the Day.”

All proceeds will go to the Homeless Veterans of Indianapolis at the end of the meet, and one of the favorite charitable groups for Horseshoe’s very own Vice President of Racing and General Manager — Eric A. Halstrom.

So far this meet, we have not posted a single winner and we have earned a paltry $52.20. So, we are upping our game and our bets. We have much ground to make up. And, hopefully, we begin today with a first time starter from the barn of trainer Genaro Garcia, who is having a tremendous meet.

We are going with a $20 wager across the boars on Captain Shagaf (6) in the 6th race.

The sire of this one — Shagaf — is producing .38% winners with first time starters.

The dam of this one — Mi Tia — has already produced 4 winners from 5 starters.

And….

This one is getting one of my favorite riders at “The Shoe” in Marcelino Pedroza, Jr.

The ML odds are 8-1. Let’s hope we get those odds and we get a win. Most of all, we get some more money for the Veterans.
