Ok. I know. We are still looking for our first win in our “Donation Play of the Day” for 2026.

Ok. I know. It’s August.

Ok. I know. That doesn’t add up to good, no matter how you count it.

But there is time to right this ship.

Today, we are going with a $25 Win-Place-Show bet on an 8-1 ML “Longshot.”

If we can land this fish?

We will go a long way towards matching our goal of $1,500 — that we managed to raise a year ago — for the Homeless Veterans of Indianapolis. This is a favorite charity and longtime dedication of Horseshoe Indianapolis Vice President and General Manager Eric Halstorm.

We are in for the effort.

Let’s go.

Today we go with Count of Amazonia (10) in the 8th race — a 1-mile grass event.

This 9YO gelding is coming off a distant 7th in a similar race here on July 6. But in that event, the Irish-bred stumbled early in the race and truly never recovered. Look for him to be much closer to the pace-setters today and the new rider up is red hot and knows how to coach one towards the leaders in the early pace. In 35 lifetime starts on the grass, this one has hit the board 15 times. And, he has earned over $225,000. I’m looking for a return to that form here.

Let’s go.
