All Stats Are Now Updated
Here’s our looks at “The Shoe” on this Tuesday afternoon. We have one running and we hope to make it a grand day and the best, little racetrack in the Midwest:
1st: 1-2/7/3-5/4/6/8…Bright Brian (1) gets the nod in the ole’ lid-lifter up at “The Shoe” in Shelbyville, IN on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon. This 4YO son of Majestic Harbor returns to the dirt after a misfire on the turf. Most of the “MH’s” don’t seem to like the sod, a bunch. This barn wins with .07% of the last 27 to move back to the main track. Wins with .26%, though, coming off a break. And, barn has won with .26% of the last 61 to start this year. Rider has won with .33% of the last 12 for this barn operation, as well. Lots to like here. Victor’s Dream (2) has raced here 26 times in the life. Has only 1 win. Ugh. But does have 10 runner-ups and 5 more thirds. Underneath play here. I bet the 1 across the board and then double down on the win wager. I will key the 1 over/under the 2-7-3-5-4 in the exactas. More with the 2-7 than the rest.
2nd: 2-4-1/5//3//6…Incredible Justice (2) returns to the “bargain bin” here for a barn that has won with .15% of75 starters this year. This one has only 3 wins in 27 tries here, but does have 6 more seconds and a third, too. Maybe an underneath play, too? Corsidat (4) has made the gate here on 23 occasions. Has a mark of 3-4-6 in those starts. So-so. But at this distance, this one has a 2-2-4 mark in 9 starts. Like that. Tattered Heart (1) goes for a top barn operation in these parts. Returns as a beaten favorite, and the barn wins with .21% of the last 129 to do that. Rider is holding her own here, too. Must use, for me. I bet the 4-1 across the board — take note — and then box the top 3 numbers in the exactas. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under the 5 in two smaller units.
3rd: 2-5/1-6/3/4…Keen Ice Sight (2) has hit the board in the lasts three outings and has made the Top 3 in 8 of 12 here. Love the race two back — in May. Has hit the board in 6 of the last 7, as well. Love the rider here. Can boot. Look out. Go Stormin Girl (5) ships in for a trainer who knows what he is doing. Has won with .16% of the last 182. But wins with .21% of the last 150 that ship. Do not sell this one short. I bet the 2-5 across the board and then box these two sternly in the exactas. I will key the 2-5 over/under the 1-6-3-4 in two smaller units.
4th: 3-7/2-1-5-4-8//6…Knight’s Move (3) is our steed, and I’m thrilled to get him back on the dirt here. Ran two super races over the sod, but I still think that dirt is his speciality. The distance should be perfect, and I’m looking for a monster effort from our boy here. He looks the part. He’s acting the part. I’m in. All in. I bet the 3 across the board as my Key Play of the Day. I will also double / triple down on the win wager. I will key the 3 over/under the 7-2-1-5-4-8 in the exactas. I will box the 3-7 sternly in the exactas, too.
5th: 4-9/7-8/2/5-6//10-3-1…Razzaluna (4) drops to the $12,500 level here and the last time this 3YO filly was offered up for this low a tag, she nearly won here on May 23. Led the entire trip that day. Gets a new rider and that’s interesting. But could fit this one perfectly. Has some speed that she could last at this level, again. A Star for Cora (9) returns to the same level that she ran a solid 2nd at last time out. Gets back on the grass here and has hit the board in the last 3 outs. Will be coming late. Very late. But will be coming. I bet the 4-9 across the board and then box these two in the exactas. I will key the 4-9 over/under the 7-8-2-5-6 in two smaller units.
6th: 8-3/4-2-6-5/7/1…Night Kiss (8) is a 3YO Midnight Lute filly and should appreciate the tremendous drop in class for this one. Barn is 0-for-10 when going from a route to a sprint and .19% when going from a turf to dirt race. Gets a huge rider switch for this one to the meet’s best. Look for this one to be right in the hunt. Irish Tap (3) nearly won the last two and seems to be good right now. Trainer is one of the best on the grounds and this one has a 1-1-3 in 9 starts here before. Should be pressing the pace early. I bet the 8 across the board and then box the 8-3 in the exactas. I will key the 8-3 over/under the 4-2-6-5-7 in two smaller units.
7th: 7-5-4/(12)-8-11/9/2/1-3-10…Summer Assault (7) nearly won here last time out over the sod and now drops into the claiming ranks. Barn wins with .29% when hitting the claiming ranks for the first time and this one now shows up in the “bargain bin.” Top rider sticks here and he wins with .30% of the last 43 for this barn operation. Lots to like here. Clear N Convincing (5) goes for a top trainer who has won with .32% of the last 193 this year. This one nearly won at this same level last time out and gets a top top rider for the occasion. Figures. Evil Eye (4) could add some spice to the odds rack here. Listed at 8-1 in the Brisnet.com ML. Has a 3-4-2 mark in 22 tries here. May add to that count. I bet the 7-5 across the board and then box the top 3 numbers in the exactas. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under the 12-8-11 in two smaller units.. I will also key the 7-5 over/under the 4-12-8-11-9-2 in two smaller units.
8th: 2-3-(12)/1-(14)/8-6-7/5-10/9…The final Thoroughbred action of the day comes here with a 1-mile turf event for the MSW level and fillies. I go with Hurry Up Hannah (2) in this spot. Trainer is having a superb year, winning at a .25% clip. This one has run two super good races in a row and nearly won a grass event here last time out. Rider has won some big races all over the country this year and fits. Barn withs with .25% in the 2nd try off a layoff and has won with the last 2 to make the 2nd grass start. I bet the 2 across the board and then box the 2-3-12 in the exactas. I will key the 2 over/under the 3-12-1-14-8-6-7 in two smaller units.
Good Luck & All the Best / Gene
