Stats Are Now Completely Updated

Here’s our looks at the Friday Weekend-Starter-Kit:

st: 1-3/6-7/9/5-2-4/8-10…Storm Daddy (1) gets the nod in the ole lid-lifter at the new and improved Turfway Park on this Friday night. The 2YO gelded son of Mendelssohn will make the career debut here and the rail is not always the best spot for a newbie. But this one has talent in the a.m., and a super work at KEE on Dec. 2. Dam of this one has 2 winners from 2 starts and a Stakes winner on the ground. Rail is winning at an .18% rate, too. Interesting rider choice for a top-end barn operator. Steel Hawk (3) will drop several notches in the claiming ranks here for a barn that is winning at a .26% rate this year and that is with 339 starters. This guy is a home-bred and has run OK against tougher. Should be a tough out here with the meet’s top rider up. I bet the 1-3 across the board and then box these two sternly in the exactas. I will key the 1-3 over/under the 6-7-9 in two smaller units.

nd: 10-7/3-9/1-4-5-8-11/6-12/2-(13)…Moon Party (10) drops another rung in the claiming game, too, and this one nearly won against tougher last time out. Has 4 previous tries over an AW surface, with two 3rds on the resume. Gets the meet’s top rider to take the reins here and the barn is having a very solid year. Reveling (7) could pop here, too, at a solid price. This 3YO English Channel filly has never run here before, but comes in for a trainer who has been known to sneak up on the field. Barn is winning at a .14% rate in 106 starts this year. I bet the 10 across the board and then box the 10-7 in the exactas. I will key the 10-7 over/under the 3-9-1-4-5-8-11 in two smaller units.

rd: 7-6-5/3-4-2/9/8/1…Uncle Headley (7) is another from the barn of Wesley Ward and this one should relish this mammoth drop in class here. Ran well against MSW company at Horseshoe Indy in the Summer. Gets the meet’s top rider up here. Should be primed and ready to pour it on here. Mendeljohn (6) is a second from the Ward barn. This one will make the career debut. Barn wins with .34% when starting in the MCL ranks. Sharp work on Dec. 2. Shot here. Hendrix (5) drops from the $20,00 ranks to the $15,000 here for a barn that does extremely well over the AW surfaces. In 249 tries over the artificial stuff, this barn has won with .27%. I bet the 7-6 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under the 3-4-2 in two smaller units.

th: 9-12/4-10/7-5/1-3-6/(14)-2-(13)…Tiki Bar (9) goes for a trainer who has won 2 of 3 to start the meet here and has won with .19% of 340 starts this year. Ran very well in a nice Stakes event at KY Downs back in September in the last outing. Working well for the return here. Classy rider up for the journey. Firing Bullets (12) has hit the board in two straight Stakes events up at Woodbine. One of those was over the AW surface there. Drops in class for this event and the connections paid a nice $210,000 at the 2022 2YO Sale back in April. I bet the 9-12 across the board and then box these two sternly in the exactas. I will key the 9-12 over/under the 4-10-7-5 in two smaller units.

th: (13)-4-(14)/7-12-1-8/3-10/2-6…The two outside horses on the AE List look to have a shot here, if either or both draw in. Take a gander. Make sure. If they do, I use the 13-14 across the board and key. If they do not? I will hook up with Olazabal (4). This 2YO son of Bolt d’Oro comes inn off a 3rd at the MSW level at Churchill Downs in the last effort. That was the first start for the new trainer, who is off to a stylish start here, as well. Gets the meet’s top rider back up. Huge threat. I bet the 13-14 if they get in. If not, I bet the 4 across the board and then key the 4 over/under the 7-12-1-8-3 in the exactas, if not.

th: 10-5/8-4-9-2/7-11/1…Girl With a Dream (10) will go for trainer Brad Cox in this spot. This 3YO Practical Joke filly has run in 4 straight Stakes events, and two of them were Graded. Had a win in the G3 Forward Gal at Gulfstream Park back in February. But has never raced over the AW. Interesting to see how this one does here. Strong Odor (5) has a clever name considering the pedigree. Take a look. By Strong Mandate. Out of the mare Tuna. LOL. This one will make the 3rd start off the layoff and this barn wins with .19% of the last 354 to do that. Has 2-0-2 mark in 5 previous tries here. One to beat, IMO. I bet the 10-5 across the board and then box those two sternly in the exactas. I will key the 10-5 over/under the 8-4-9-2 in two smaller units.

th: 4-(14)-1/5-11-(13)/10-2/8…Kazan (4) gets the nod here. This 7YO gelding was claimed just two starts ago by a top claiming trainer, who is off a very nice start here. Ran very well at Golden Gate just two starts ago. In 4 previous tries over an AW surface, this one has a 1-1-1 record. Look out, although I don’t know much at all about this rider. Bakwena (14) could be a threat if he were to draw in from the AE List. Ran 2nd at KEE in the last outing. But needs some help before the race to make the gate. Bluegrass Parkway (1) should be a huge favorite and the one to beat here. This 6YO gelded son of Quality Road has been facing much, much, much tougher. Ran 2nd in a Stakes at Saratoga in August. Look out. First try over AW. I bet the 4-1 across the board and then box the top 3 numbers in the exactas. I will key the 4-1 over/under the 14-5-11-13-10-2 in two smaller units.

th: 1-(13)/5-6/3-4-9-(14)/2-7-10-11…Kid Shelleen (1) figues to be a tough out in the finale. This 5YO gelding ran a very nice 3rd when coming off the shelf last time out. Should be fitter and more prepared here and gets the same rider to handle the reins. In 12 career starts, this one still looking for first trip to the winner’s circle, but does have 5 runner-ups and 3 thirds. Off the Cuff (13) could be a threat if he draws in from the AE List. This son of Bernardini is trained by Mike Maker, who is off to a terrific start here this meet (3-1-3 in first 12 starts). Ran well last time out and comes from a Stakes-placed dam. Gets the meet’s top rider, too. I bet the 1-13 across the board (if the 13 gets in). I will box those two sternly in the exactas. I will key the 1-13 over/under the 5-6-3-4-9-14 in two smaller units.
