Stats Are Now Completely Updated

After a very nice and encouraging opening night, we blanked on the card Thursday night at the new and improved Turfway Park. Zilch. Nada. Zero. Blanks.

Our top pick did run 2nd on 3 occasions, out of the 8 races. We hit for four very solid and nice exactas, that helped bail us out in the end.

But still? No wins? Ugh.

We will endeavor to do better. Again. Starting tonight.

Here’s our looks:

1st: 9-4/7-6/10-11/3/5-8…Miss Matchmaker (9) gets the nod in the ole’ lid-lifter at the new & improved Turfway Park on this Friday night. This 3YO daughter of Cupid is trained by one of the best in the game and a better gentleman, at that. Comes in here with a significant drop in class, and the barn wins with .27% when falling this much at one time. Moves from the sod to the AW and the barn wins with .28% when going from a route to a sprint, too. Solid. Rolleston (4) ships in here with a big drop, too. Barn wins with .25% when falling this much at one time. Not been close at the wire yet, but still rates a shot. I bet the 9 across the board and then double down on the win wager. Maybe even triple down. I will key the 9 over/under the 4-7-6-10-11-3 in the exactas. More with the 4-7-6 than the rest.

2nd: 7-1/3-5/4-11/8-10/6…Son of Grace (7) goes for a top barn operation, which wins with an amazing .26% of the 330 starts this year. Knows how to spot them, for sure. Gets the meet’s red-hot rider up and this one should be the speed of the field. Look out here. Could be long gone. As in? Long. Gone. I bet the 7 across the board and then box the 7-1 in the exactas. I will key the 7-1 over/under the 3-5-4-11-8-10 in two smaller units.

3rd: 8-6/7/3-4/5/1-2…Singsong Bird (8) gets her first start for a new barn operation, which wins with .30% of those making the first start off a claim purchase. This trainer recently arrived here from CA, where he was a top claiming trainer there. This one drops off the claim and the barn wins with .30% of the last 27 to do that. Wow numbers here. I bet the 8 across the board and then double down on the win wager. I will box the 8-6 in the exactas. I will key the 8-6 over/under the 7 and then key the 8 over/under the 6-7-3-4-5 in two smaller units.

4th: 11-12-7/5/2-8/4-10/3-6…Seaward (11) didn’t get any bargains with the gate assignment, but this 4YO daughter of Mizzen Mast is bred for this surface, without question. Has a 2-1-1 mark in 9 previous runs here and should love this spot. I’m in. Carry On (12) has been training here an the last work on Nov. 17 was spot on. Barn wins with .22% of the last 36 to make the 2nd start off a claim. Must use, for me. Destiny’s Darling (7) has gone 0-0-0 in 5 starts here in the past. Ugh. I bet the 11-12 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the 11-12 over/under the 7-5-2-8-4-10 in two smaller units.

5th: 11-12/1-5-8-6/7-2//10-4-9…Miranda Rights (11) gets an outside post, but this one should be OK. Looks to be the class of the field after running a couple of huge 2nds over the turf at KY Downs and then KEE. Working well here, too. Love this rider choice. I’m all in here. All. In. I bet the 11 across the board and then box the 11-12 in the exactas. I will key the 11-12 over/under the 1-5-8-6-7-2 in two smaller units.

6th: 5-8-4/1-3/6/2-7…Raise Cain (5) ran 3rd in a nice Stakes event at KEE last time out. Won by nearly 6 lengths at KEE the time before. Fits here and the class drop surely does not hurt. Barn wins with only .07% when routing for the first time and that’s the only concern here. Oscar Award (8) ran a much better than looks 4th last time out. Won the time before at KEE. Moves from the sod over the AW and this barn wins with .29% when it does that in the past. Interesting rider choice. Hope it works out. This one could be a sleeper. Fantastic Again (4) goes for Wesley Ward, who normally tears this place apart at the seams. Gets his go-to rider up and they have combined to win .33% over the last two months. Watch out. One to beat. I bet the 5-4 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under the 1-3 in two smaller units.

7th: 8-5-6/9/1-7-12/10-4/2/3…Graphic Detail (8) is my “Upset Special of the Night.” This one is listed at 6-1 in the ML, and I would love to lock that in. This one gets Lasix for the first time and will start for the new barn for the first time, too. New trainer wins with .23% with newcomers. Sharp work on Nov. 26. Looks ready and poised. I’m in. Rocket Dawg (5) is the ML favorite and goes for Brad Cox, who is keeping some horses here to race this winter. Returns as a beaten favorite and the barn wins with .31% of the last 456 to qualify for that category. Top rider here. Trust Daddy (6) ships in from NY to try the luck here. Moves from the sod to the AW. Barn is 0-for-9 when trying that. Eventually? I bet the 8-5 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the 8-5 over/under the 6-9-1-7-12 in two smaller units.

8th: 6-12-7/4-8-10/2-5/11/1-9…Frog Town (6) is another who comes from the Cox barn and this one ran well at this level last time out. Figures. Caballo Feliz (12) moves to the MCL ranks for the first time and this barn wins with .20% when doing that in the last 106 attempts. Should be coming at the end and that style platys well here. Beer Most (7) could pop at first asking for a top trainer. In the first 4 starts this meet, barn has notched 2 wins. Off and running. I bet the 12 — take note — across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the 6-12 over/under the 7-4-8-10-2-5 in two smaller units.
