Stats Are Now Completely Updated
Here’s our looks at the new and improved Turfway Park on Thursday night:
1st: 6-1/2/3-4-7-9/5/8…Lieutenant Kitty (6) is an Indy-bred daughter of Majestic Harbor and she should fit in this drop to the “bargain bin” on this Thursday night. Has won an allowance at Horseshoe Indy and has a 3rd over this track in the past. New rider is 1-for-40 this meet? Ugh. Runaway Mom (1) drops to the bin for the first time, too. Has raced here 6 times in the past. Never hit the board. Ugh. Ugh. I bet the 6 across the board and then box the top 2 numbers in the exactas. I will key the 6-1 over/under the 2-3-4-7-9-5 in two smaller units.
2nd: 8-10/4-7-11/1-2-6/3-9//5…Bronze Beast (8) ran well at this same level last time out to be 3rd. Has a 1-0-3 mark in 8 previous tries here. New rider up for the first time. Can push the pace in this one. Fomo (10) goes for a barn that has won with .20% of 45 runners this year. This will be the first try with this one. Wins with .08% on first try. Gets another shot over the AW here. Barn wins with .12% of the last 59 to run over this type of surface. I bet the 8-10 across the board and then box these two in the exactas. I will key the 8-10 over/under the 4-7-11-1-2-6 in two smaller units.
3rd: 7-11/4-6-2/1-(13)/12//8-3…Queen of Chill (7) will make the first start for a top claiming operation and the barn wins with .30% on first try after a claim purchase. Gets the meet’s top rider up. Jockey is red hot, too, going 6-0-2 in the last 13. Chrome Dessert (11) has a chance. Goes for a top barn operator, who is 4-for-9 this meet. Will make the first route race here, and the new trainer wins with .18% when asked to stretch out for the first time. I bet the 7-11 across the board and then box these two in the exactas. I will key the 7-11 over/under the 4-6-2-1 in two smaller units.
4th: 7-10-1/6-9/2-4/3-8//5…Markitoff (7) has already run 11 times this yer. Has a tidy 3-3-1 record to show for it. Drops in class here and the barn wins with .21% of the last 63 in the claiming ranks. Watch out here with cut back in distance. Blanket of Roses (10) goes for a top barn operation and does have a 1-2-2 record in 11 previous tries here. Gets a cut in distance, too, and that should help immensely. Barn wins with .18% of the last 85 to make the 2nd start off a layoff. I bet the 7 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the top 3 numbers over/under the 6-9 in two smaller units.
5th: (13)/2-12-11/1-3/5-10/7-(14)//4-8-9…Eye Witness (13) will get “Key Play of the Night” status and treatment if the City of Light 2YO draws in from the AE List. Lost by a skinny neck on debut at Aqueduct in September. Off since. Training very well over this strip. Look out. Look out. Look out. But? If not in, I divert to Brazen Boy (2). This one goes for a barn that wins with .25% when moving from dirt to AW. Picks up a classy rider for the assignment. Chance. I bet the 13 if in. Across. And, key. If not, I bet the 2 across the board and then box the next three numbers in the exactas. I will key the 2-12-11 over/under the 1-3 in two smaller units.
6th: 3-2/6-9/1-5//4//7-8-10…Seven and Seven (3) could be salty and salty in the 6th. This 5YO son of Oxbow will make the AW debut here. Barn wins with .24% when dropping this much at one time. Gets a classy rider for the trip. Paid Twice (2) was right there when dropped to this level last time out. Could be a winner here with a similar effort. Barn has gone 2-1-0 in 5 starts to the meet. I bet the 3-2 across the board and then box these two in the exactas. I will key the 3-2 over/under the 6-9-1-5 in two smaller units.
7th: 7-8-9/12-3-6-4/1-5-10/11/(13)-(14)…Capella (7) could be a tough out here. This daughter of Quality Road goes for a top operation and the dam of this one has 4 winners from 4 starters and a Stakes winner, too. Sharp work on Dec. 17. Look out. Solid gate rider up. I bet the 7 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the 7 over/under the 8-9-12-3-6-4 in two smaller units.
8th: 11-9-8/2-4/3-10-12/5-(13)/1/7…Quaria Comet (11) goes for a red-hot barn operation, which has started this meet with a 7-3-2 mark in the first 20 starts. Wow numbers. Wow. This one has not run since 4th at KEE in mid-October. Ran well there. Gets a new rider, off to a solid start here. Nice work on Dec. 20, too. Woodbine Way (9) goes for a trainer who does very well in Canada. This one has a win in two starts over AW. Rider has only 1 win in 37 starts here, but is very solid and can boot late. Chance. Northern Diamond (8) won just two starts ago and should be a threat here with her speed in the gate. I bet the 11 across the board and then box the top 3 numbers in the exactas. I will key the top 3 over/under the 2-4 in two smaller units.
9th: (13)-4-11/6-(14)-7-10/9/12-3/1/2-8…Win the Day (13) could do just that if the 3Yo son of Midshipman gets in the race from the AE List. Looks very salty and has run two Graded Stakes in the last two outings. If not in, I divert to Graphic Detail (4). This one goes for a very hot barn and gets the meet’s top rider up. Ran 2nd here on Dec. 2. Look out. Will come late. But will come. I bet the 13-4 across the board and then box the top 3 in the exactas. I will key the 13-4 over/under the 11-6-14-7-10-9 in two smaller units.
10th: (13)-12-4/6-7-10/2-9-11/1-8//3-5…Kid Shelleen (13) is another top play if he draws in from the AE List. Has hit the board in the last two and 6 of the last 7. Only miss was a 4th. Barn wins with .22% in the third start off a layoff and with .26% when dropping this much at once. Look out, if in. If not? I go to Tolkien (12). This one has a 2nd here in only previous try and ran a very credible 2nd last time out, too. Chance. I bet the 13-12 across the board and then box there top 3 in the exactas. I will key the 13-12 over/under the 4-6-7-10-2 in two smaller units.
Good Luck & All the Best / Gene
