After getting off to a miserable start at Turfway Park on Thursday night, we certainly were able to turn things around and right the handicapping ship. Our “top selection” in each of the last five races contested at Turfway went on to win those races — giving “Team McLean” a perfect Pick 5 to finish off the night.

That ticket — which we used more numbers to cover — returned $401.15. But, theoretically, you could have bet a very simple .50-cent ticket with our top pick in each race and received a very nice return.

On the night, we had 5 winners on the 10-race card and also gave out exactas that returned $20.71, $24.50, $75.71, $1487, $22.17 and $28.60 for each $1 played correctly.

Not a bad way to kick-start this celebratory weekend where we close out one year and prepare for new one.
