Well, well, well.
When I got a text message late on Saturday afternoon, from my good friend and horse partner Dave Brown, I looked and saw that he was congratulating me on a good day of handicapping.
Dave, always the gentleman, wrote:
“You are in fire today. Horses and BB.”
I was a bit worried until he immediately sent a follow-up text that read:
Whew. I was a bit worried. After all…
I have been in Vegas. And, over the Easter holiday. I was beginning to worry that Dave might be my clergyman and giving me the heads up on pending danger of the oncoming of Dante’s Inferno. In fire?
I can go for “on fire.”
“In fire?” Not so much.
But, sure enough, our picks were “on fire.” We were. They were. You should have been, too.
Out of the 11 races, we won 9 times.
Out of the 3 “Key Plays of the Day,” we had two wins and a second.
Out of the 1 “Upset Special of the Day,” we had a winner that returned the likes of $42.60 for a simple $2 win/place/show ticket. The $1 exacta returned $67.20 on that one, too.
And, out of the 11 races we had 9 exactas come home to roost. They returned the likes of $4.10, $25.20, $67.20, $22.00, $26.20, $12.80, $11.70, $3.40 and $3.70 for each $1 played.
Not a bad day at the ole’ ball yard.
We shall return on Wednesday. Maybe someday our picks will make the big time and be circulated and/or promoted by the track in Lexington, too?
What do you think?
That wouldn’t be any fun.
See you soon.
Good luck & All the Best / Gene
