It was a night for celebration.

The start of the 2022 Churchill Downs’ Spring / Summer meet.

The start of 2022 “Kentucky Derby Week” festivities.

The start of a new era, with new amenities and new horses owned by people with old dreams that burn anew.

And, it was a new start for Team McLean, too.

Although we have held our own in 2022, so far, we blasted out of the starting gate with a sense of fire on Saturday night.

We hit 6 winners out of the 10 races — including a robust 4 in a row.

Our two “Key Plays of the Night” won and ran a handy 2nd.

And, we hit 8 exactas on the night, as well, and they returned the likes of $30.40, $14.00, $57.00, $9.00, $8.20, $27.20, $2.50 and $15.50 for each $1 played correctly.

We are off. (Many would agree with that statement in so many different ways. LOL.)

We are off to a quick start.

Here’s hoping we build some momentum towards Saturday’s greatest day in Thoroughbred racing.
