TRISKELION PREVAILS IN THREE-HORSE PHOTO TO WIN $122,500 PEA PATCH STAKES

 

HENDERSON, Ky. (Monday, July 6, 2026) – Amy Dunne’s Triskelion got her head down at the wire to prevail in a thrilling three-horse photo finish in Sunday’s $122,500 Pea Patch Stakes at Ellis Park.

Ridden by Cristian Torres and trained by Rusty Arnold II, Triskelion covered 5 1/2 furlongs over a firm turf course in 1:01.55.

Beach Heist and Sweet Sissone dueled for the early lead while Triskelion tracked just behind them in third. Triskelion ranged up three wide on the far turn and engaged Beach Heist in upper stretch as Just a Minute launched a furious rally to their outside. The trio hit the wire together, with Triskelion getting her head down in the final stride to edge the even-money favorite Beach Heist, with Just a Minute another head back in third.

Sweet Sissone finished fourth and was followed by Gigabit, Sutura and Woodstock.

Triskelion returned $8.72 to win.

The Pea Patch Stakes was Triskelion’s second-career victory from six starts. Her earnings now stand at $152,003.

Bred in Florida by Ashbrook Farm, Amy E. Dunne and Ciaran G. Dunne, Triskelion is a chestnut filly by Leinster out of Victorian Gold (IRE), by Australia (GB).
