From the Keeneland Media Team:

Wesley Ward (winning trainer of Twenty Carat)

“She’s always been a lovely filly, done everything right. I’m very thankful that Mr. (Goncalo) Torrealba and his team (at Three Chimneys Farm) gave her to me to train. Looks like she’s gonna go a little bit farther. I was just on the phone with him (Torrealba) – that was me holding the phone for him in the Winner’s Circle; he’s in Dubai. I think this filly has a big future, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Luis Saez (rider of Twenty Carat)

“(Her position early in the race when she was third on the outside) was the spot we were looking for. We have speed, but there was speed inside, too. We broke so good we were right there. When we came to the half-mile (pole), I knew I had a lot of horse for the battle.”

Kelly Breen (trainer of runner-up and beaten favorite Slumber Party)

“I have mixed emotions – I am disappointed because I thought we brought a top-notch filly. She ran hard, she ran great but maybe not the (race) trip I had foreseen. If she got out (front) early and not been blocked a little bit, maybe the outcome would have been different. The whole field were a bunch of nice horses.”
