(Come on in. We’re about ready)

Editor’s Note:

The dust is beginning to settle. The view is beginning to clear.

The end may be in sight now.

And, oh what a sight that is coming into focus.

Although the exact date of opening for the new “Louisville Thoroughbred Society” has not been set yet, a lot of other things are getting set into motion and into place. And, the date is a heckuva lot sooner than latter.

What is the official first day of Summer?

According to my handy-dandy fact finder on my phone, that is June 20 — Summer Solstice. The longest day of the year. And, I’m going to make that the over/under date, if anyone wants to wager a large corned beef sandwich and a Sarsaparilla or two. (Even though that might constitute an official sports bet — which is now allowed in Indiana. But that’s another story for another day.)

Stay tuned for further notices and announcements, and the official proclamations. They, too, are coming.

But we are coming. Fast. Furious. And, soon.

Here’s a small peek inside. If you have not done so already, go the website (www.thelouisvillethoroughbredsociety.com) and hit the membership links. Sign up.

If you have not done so already, send an email to our new General Manager, Mary Painter, and schedule a tour. You can contact her at [email protected]

If you haven’t gotten excited yet? Get excited.

Betting terminals will arrive in the next two weeks and be installed.

State of the art audio/video equipment will arrive soon after that and be installed.

Dish network is coming this week to spot the receiver and be installed.

Decoders will arrive in April. Signals will be coming in and be installed.

You need to get ready. And, get installed.

Rev up those engines. The best, private membership club — dedicated to enhancing your Thoroughbred racing experience — is coming to downtown Louisville. And, it is going to be special.

Take a peek:

(A new door to the Hughes Lofts building has been installed)

(The South End elevator is going in)
