Increases Continue Thursday at Keeneland November
as Broodmare Taylor Swifter Brings $700,000
LEXINGTON, KY (Nov. 6, 2025) – Thursday’s third session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale continued the double-digit gains of the first two days with $44 million in sales led by the $700,000 purchase of Taylor Swifter, a 4-year-old daughter of American Pharoah in foal to Flightline, by Bryant Prentice’s Pursuit of Success.
Gainesway, agent, the session’s leading consignor, sold Taylor Swifter, who is from the family of graded stakes winners and sires Liam’s Map and Not This Time. Her dam is stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Taylor S., by Medaglia d’Oro.
Thursday was the second and final day of Book 2, when Keeneland sold 239 horses through the ring for $44,027,000 for an increase of 30.27% from the third session of the 2024 sale when 212 horses grossed $33,796,500. The average of $184,213 rose 15.55% from last year’s $159,417. The median of $160,000 rose 20.75% from $132,500 to equal the median from Session 2.
Through three sessions, 596 horses have sold through the ring for $164,126,000, an increase of 30.67% from the corresponding period in 2024 when 556 horses grossed $125,606,500. The average of $275,379 rose 21.90% from last year’s $225,911, and the median of $190,000 was up 11.76% from $170,000.
“The day was fantastic — felt like a continuation of yesterday,” Keeneland Vice President of Sales Tony Lacy said. “The momentum was there, and there was the same enthusiasm for quality stock. The market never seemed to waver all day, which was really encouraging. The session jumped out of the gates well and hit the wire hard.
“A lot of people were here for the last hips going through the ring,” Lacy added. “It was busy in the back and out in the Show Barn for the last few hours while the inside was really vibrant. A lot of people were really relaxed and smiling and enjoying it, which indicates the confidence percolating through the marketplace right now.”
“The weanling market was sensational again today,” Keeneland Senior Director of Sales Operations Cormac Breathnach said. “We had 239 sales through the ring to 179 different buyers. We’re into Day 3, and the consistency of the day is really supported by the depth of the buyer base. The top 20 weanlings that sold today were by 19 different stallions and bought by 19 different buyers. That’s the stuff you dream of when you’re trying to create the marketplace we have.
“The idea that everybody’s here, that Keeneland is supported by the breeders with better stock and with marketable stock and to have diversity in both the buyer base and the bloodlines on offer, is really rewarding.”
Today’s session topper, Taylor Swifter, is a “very nice physical,” buyer Archie St George said. “She is by American Pharaoh, who looks to be possibly a very good broodmare sire. She’s in foal to an exciting stallion, Flightline. It’s a big pedigree with stallions on there: Not This Time and Liam’s Map. Hopefully, Mr. Prentice has some luck with her.”
For the session, Taylor Swifter’s consignor, Gainesway, led all sellers with $7,227,000 for 34 horses.
Grade 3 winner Apple Picker, a 5-year-old daughter of Connect consigned by ELiTE, agent, sold to Family & Friends for $650,000. Out of the winning Yes It’s True mare Silent Fright, she is from the family of Grade 1 winner Lakeway and Canadian champion Grand Adventure.
Two horses sold for $600,000 each.
The first was the session’s top-priced weanling, a colt by Nyquist sold to Clover Leaf Bloodstock. Consigned by Indian Creek, agent, he is out of the Honor Code mare Intense Honor, a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Money Multiplier and Grade 2 winner Intense Holiday.
Finn Green, agent, went to $600,000 to acquire Sea Garden, an 8-year-old daughter of Curlin in foal to Practical Joke. Dam of stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Built, she is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Glenville Gardens and from the family of Grade 1 winner Marley Vale and Grade 2 winner Indian Vale. Paramount Sales, agent, consigned the mare.
Lunar Impact (GB), a 5-year-old daughter of Zoustar who won Santa Anita’s Mizdirection (L) in May, sold for $550,000 to CHC Inc. From the family of noted British-based sprinter Battaash, she was consigned by Hunter Valley Farm, agent. Lunar Impact is out of the winning Compton Place mare Button Moon.
The session’s leading buyer was Clover Leaf Bloodstock, which purchased five horses for $1.23 million.
