Here’s our looks at the 8-race Thoroughbred card for Horseshoe Indianapolis on this very special and time-honored tradition, where the track and its’ team of professionals give so much back to the Indy community in assistance for the Homeless Veterans & Families organization.

Over the past few years, Horseshoe Indianapolis Vice President and General Manager Eric Halstrom has spearheaded an effort to bring both awareness and donations to the organization and help assist those veterans who need our help the most. Those veterans who have already given so much of themselves, but have found that returning home may be one of the biggest challenges in their respective lives.

On this Tuesday, we will convene at the track for another opportunity to help raise money to assist these heroes. And, I am truly honored to be asked to assist in that cause.

For this year’s live meet, I have been trying to do a “Donation Play of the Day,” once or twice per week. We are now over $1,255, through bets I have made throughout the meet. Today, I will try to add to that total. I will be working with a group of other public handicappers, who have been given a $250 payroll to bet today’s Late Pick 5. Any winnings from those tickets will go to the HVAF group. In addition, I plan to make a winning wager on a horse, too.

Altogether, we are hoping that we can help those who have helped us so much.
