We are hoping to get back on a winning streak, starting right here and right now. So, we are going to line up today with my good friend, trainer Brad Cox, who just so happens to be one of the best conditioners of horses in the land and is winning at a .32% clip this meet after the first 41 starts.
Stars please align.
Foligno is a 3YO son of the Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist, and was purchased at the 2023 KEE September Sale for $210,000. Has run 4 times with two seconds on the scorecard, so far. He ran at Churchill Downs on May 11 in a turf race. Spit the bit in tat one and faded to 9th out of 12 horses. But that’s a toss for me. Facing older for the first time in tat one and the early fractions were just too sharp to maintain.
Been off since then and now ships to “The Shoe.” Like the last series of works and gets a rider who is winning at a .30% rate after 20 mounts here this season. Should stalk the pace and pounce. I like the pounce part.
I bet $25 to win Foligno (3) in the 7th and here’s hoping we eclipse the $400 mark today. All funds at the end of the meet will be donated to assist the homeless veterans in the Indy-area. Please join with us on this worthy endeavor, which is inspired by Horseshoe Indianapolis VP for Racing — Mr. Eric Halstrom.
