ELLIS PARK THREE-DAY WEEKEND FEATURES STAKES ACTION, ON-TRACK EVENTS FOR ENTIRE FAMILY

 

HENDERSON, Ky. (Friday, July 18, 2025) – Ellis Park will host another three-day weekend of racing beginning Saturday, highlighted by a duo of $150,000 stakes contests and several popular on-track events for the entire family to enjoy.

          Saturday’s nine-race card will begin at 11:50 a.m. (all times Central) and features the return of superstar jockeyTyler Gaffalione, who’s been on the sidelines for the past several months recovering from an ankle injury. Gaffalione was named to ride in Races 3, 6, 8 and 9.

Sunday’s program features the $150,000 Jeff Hall Memorial in Race 8, with graded stakes-winning millionaire Banishing tabbed as the 2-1 morning line favorite. Run at 6 ½ furlongs, the Jeff Hall Memorial field also includesBooth, a three-time Grade III winner; Nash, runner-up in last year’s Pat Day Mile (GII); Durante, surprise winner of the Aristides Stakes (GIII); and Here Mi Song, who will attempt a third straight victory in this race.

In celebration of local fan-favorite Here Mi Song and his attempt at a third straight victory in the Jeff Hall Memorial, Ellis Park Racing & Gaming is teaming up with Brew Bridge to release a special, limited-edition beer Sunday on the track’s apron.

Crafted by Brewmaster Will Gomez at Owensboro’s Brew Bridge, the 16-ounce commemorative can features the likeness of Here Mi Song and contains a crisp light lager with 3.9% alcohol by volume.

The beer will be available starting at 11 a.m. with a portion of the proceeds going to the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, while supplies last.

On Monday, Flatland Racing Stable’s talented 4-year-old filly Fibber was made the 9-5 morning line favorite as she faces nine rivals entered in the third running of the $150,000 Twin Bridges Stakes.

The Twin Bridges Stakes, contested at six furlongs, is the featured eighth race on Monday’s card with a post time of 3:12 p.m.

Fibber, trained by Chris Hartman and ridden by Joe Ramos, won last year’s Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park. A daughter of Frosted, Fibber enters the Twin Bridges with a solid record of 15-4-4-4 while banking $520,703. Prior to this start, Fibber finished second in the Poinsettia Stakes and American Beauty Stakes at Oaklawn. She’ll break from post No. 4.

The field also includes Summerhill Stables’ Roxelana Stakes winner Mink’s Palace and Rigney Racing’s stakes winner Legadema, who’s set to make her comeback after 10 months on the sidelines.
