(Look at the bird, which is flying just in front of the 4YO-filly Crown Jewel, at the finish line of the 8th race at Oaklawn Park on Sunday. The photo was captured by my great Twitter buddy, Gary McIntyre. He screen shot the photo from the video replay of the race. Great job to Gary.)

Editor’s Note:

Gary McIntyre may be one of the biggest and best fans of Thoroughbred racing in the entire universe. He rarely misses a day on Twitter, chatting about the horses that he tracks along life’s journey. He hardly ever misses a day at a Kentucky track — especially Ellis Park. He never, ever misses a chance to promote — in a very positive way — the sport that he obviously loves.

It has been my great pleasure to meet Gary, via Twitter. We have never met in person, mind you. My fault. But this guy is such a pleasure and positive influence on the game and sport that we love.

His eye to capture this dove, or is it a female Cardinal, is amazing.

Truly amazing fan.

Truly amazing eye.

Truly amazing guy.

Wish the sport had more just like him.
