Every day, we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country. We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers. Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know. Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.
- Lone Sailor, a 5YO son of Majestic Warrior and trained by Tom Amoss, has now won over $1.211 million in a career that has produced just 2 wins in 23 lifetime starts. Now, that’s truly amazing. But he has 7 seconds and 5 thirds and has made a career in hitting the board in major Stakes events around the country. Just ran 3rd in the Tenacious Stakes at the Fair Grounds on Dec. 21 in the last outing. Worked this morning in New Orleans. Went a half mile in :49 flat. That was the 5th best time out of 38 to make the distance. What a masterful job of training for this guy. Just masterful.
- Roiland, now a 4YO son of Successful Appeal and just a year ago a horse who some considered a potential Triple Crown candidate, worked this morning at the Fair Grounds for Amoss & Co. He worked a half mile in :49.40, which was the 10th best time out of the 38. In 12 lifetime starts to date, this one has a 3-1-1 mark and has won over $170,000 in purses. Looks to be back on track. Has some run to him. Take note.
