It was a bit gloomy and a bit chilly on “Black Friday,” the day after Thanksgiving. It was kind of like dragging the leftover bird out of the refrigerator and trying to thaw out that clump of gelatin that was formerly known as “giblet gravy.”
But it was another glorious day of racing at Churchill Downs. There was the G2 Mrs. Revere Stakes, which became just another opportunity to coronate another from the barn of Chad Brown.
It was another glorious day for Tom’s d’Etat — who ran off to an impressive victory over a stellar field to capture the G1 Clark Stakes.
And, there was 10 more races to watch, handicap, beg, borrow and try to steal a winner.
It was another glorious day of racing at Churchill Downs. Period.
And, as you would expect, our very own Holly M. Smith was right there. To capture all the glory. And, the glorious.
