Reduced takeouts for all Daily Doubles at Horseshoe Indianapolis

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Monday, April 20, 2026) – Horseshoe Indianapolis is constantly looking for ways to enhance its wagering menu. A new wager was added at the beginning of the season Tuesday, April 7 with the Last Call Daily Double on the final two Thoroughbred races daily with a reduced takeout. Due to the overwhelming response and positive feedback, all Daily Double wagers will now line up with a reduced takeout of 15 percent beginning Tuesday, April 21 at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

“We experimented with placing the $5 Last Call Daily Double featuring a lower takeout on our wagering menu this year, and we are pleasantly surprised how well it was received,” said Eric Halstrom, Vice President and General Manager of Racing. “We are always listening to feedback from our players and because of the popularity of the wager, we are dropping the takeout for all Daily Doubles from 21.5 percent to 15 percent for the remainder of the meet.”

Daily Double wagering begins on the first race and is offered on each race with a “rolling double” structure. Each double offers a $2 minimum with the new 15 percent reduced takeout. The Last Call Daily Double will remain at a $5 minimum on the final two Thoroughbred races daily.

“We presented the results to both our horsemen’s groups and the Indiana Horse Racing Commission and all were in agreement to adjust the takeout for all Daily Double wagers,” added Halstrom. “We will continue to find ways to improve and bolster our wagering menu. It’s very important to us to benefit our loyal horseplayers as well as enhancing our Indiana racing program.”

Daily Double wagers join the Pick Four and Turf Pick Three with the 15 percent reduced takeout. The Late Fire Five, held on the last five Thoroughbred races daily, remains at an industry low of 11.99 percent for its takeout.

The 24th season of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing offers 123 days of action, extending through Friday, November 13. For more information on racing at Horseshoe Indianapolis, visit www.caesars.com/horseshoe-indianapolis/racing or find details on social media @HSIndyRacing.
