Editor’s Note:
Saturday was a bit blustery, as the stern winds seemed to spit in the face of Superman, but it was a magnificent day at the new and improved Turfway Park in Ya’llsville, KY. The track, which was purchased and then completely replaced by a fabulous showplace, hosted its’ first Jeff Ruby Steaks Day celebration.
The racing was magnificent — highlighted by the G3, $700,000 Jeff Ruby Steaks. It may soon become a $1 Million Prep for the Kentucky Derby. (More on that later).
The crowd was stupendous — with crowds leaking into all areas of the track to enjoy great food and libations.
The horses were spectacular — including some of the best to ever step foot on the Tapeta surface in this Northern Kentucky venue.
The place was alive with the sound of Thoroughbreds, who made beautiful music and action.
