Eddie Kenneally is off to a quick start at Churchill Downs’ annual Fall Meet. Through a week’s worth of racing, the veteran trainer has saddled nine horses to date. Four of them have crossed the finish line first, with another second and two more thirds.

That amounts to a win percentage of .44 and his horses have hit the board in .78% of the time, which is an amazing start. In total, the 9 horses have earned $172,832 to date.

Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen, who has spent much of the time on the West Coast with his prized pupil and Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Gun Runner, is second in the current trainer standings with 2 wins, 3 seconds and 4 thirds in his first 15 starts. That’s a win percentage of just .13%, but his horses have hit the board .60% of the time and have earned $157,560, too.

The meet runs through the end of November, including the annual Thanksgiving Day special card.
