April 30 (Thurby) advisory for horsemen at Churchill Downs

Horsemen: Stop by our Churchill Downs backstretch for coffee and donuts this morning (Thursday April 30). We’re between the outriders’ barn and Backside Learning Center across from the main clockers stand.

Here are your need-to-knows for Thursday, April 30 (THURBY):

  • Central Avenue will be closed from 9:00AM – 8:00PM from Taylor Blvd to Floyd Street and Oakdale/Southern Parkway to Central Avenue. Horsemen with placards wanting to drive into the backside should use Southern Parkway to Oakdale.
  • All races on Thurby, Oaks and Derby require paddock passes. You may pick up your paddock passes in the Stable Office on the backside starting tomorrow.
  • Horsemen Shuttle will run from the backside to the frontside from gates open 10:30AM – 8:00PM. Shuttle stops on the backside are highlighted in the attached photo and drop off at the Clubhouse Gate.
  • Stable Suite 6:00AM – 10:00AM is open for trainers stabled at Churchill Downs, Oaks & Derby Trainers and owners with horses racing Thurby – Derby. Each trainer is allotted 4 entries, designated by wristband at time of entry.

Oaks and Derby Undercard Tickets are in the trainer or trainer designated Churchill Downs Mobile App account with only a few exceptions. A parking guide for KEC and how to access your tickets is attached. On Thursday morning, a few members of the sales team will be on hand at the Stable Suite from 7:00AM – 9:30AM to help navigate the Churchill Downs Mobile app. You can also reach our ticketing team for help by phone at (502) 636-4447 or email ky_derby_ticketing@kyderby.com.
