Editor’s Note:
We are only about six weeks away now from reaching the finish line. In our case, though, it should be called the starting gate. By August, the long-anticipated and long-awaited opening for the Louisville Thoroughbred Society in downtown Louisville will happen.
Doors will fly open.
Food and drink will spring from the kitchen.
Staff will ride around the room, serving all.
Members and guests will jostle for the best positions.
We will be off to the races, so to speak.
Meanwhile, over the next six or so weeks, we will be whipping and driving, too. Right to the finishing touches.
While the LTS’ “Main Room & Bar,” the “Library,” the “Humidor,” and the “Cigar Bar Lounge” are all nearly completed now, we still have some final work to do on the “Diner,” the “Conservatory,” and the outdoor “Cigar Pavilion” and “Terrace.”
Soon, the Louisville Thoroughbred Society — a premier private club dedicated to promoting and enhancing the Thoroughbred industry and the experience of watching and wagering on horses — will be ready.
We hope that you are, too.
Don’t be left at the gate.
Don’t be tardy and lose the lead.
Call us today. Sign up. Join. Get ready for one of the greatest rides of your life.
Here’s the latest “peek” inside:

(The entrance foyer for the LTS is now ready for furnishings and the final wall paper and logo.)

(The sales “island” has now been delivered to the LTS’ “Humidor.” A granite counter top will be fitted over the top and sides and give a spectacular finish to the exquisite room.)

(The “North End” elevator has been installed and the cab is now being inserted. Soon, it will be ready to carry members and guests who enter off the Washington Street entrance.)

(Wood siding has been added in the LTS’ “Cigar Lounge.” This will stay in place until the freight elevator is no longer needed for the building and the space will be added for members and guests.)

(Crews have begun to water proof the LTS’ outdoor Terrace and the plumbing has been added for the LTS’ “Cigar Pavilion” bathrooms.)

(The LTS’ “Diner” has now been completely bricked one the outside and block has been extended on the outdoor dining area. Windows have been installed, and the frame for the state-of-the-art wooden ceiling has been erected. Soon, the room will be completely enclosed and final finish work will begin in preparation for our August opening.)

(The view of the Hughes Lofts and home of the Louisville Thoroughbred Society from Main Street. Final work on the brick to the adjacent parking structure is all done and the scaffolding will be removed this week.)
(The rustic and rusty horse head sits on the book shelves in the LTS’ Library.)
