We got our first win in nearly a month in our “Donation Play of the Day” up at “The Shoe,” in Shelbyville, IN on July 10. Got home Foligno to win the maiden at odds-on. Nothing like a big favorite to snap the losing streak, right?
Well, we are back to try and add to our total — which now resides just north of $421.00 — on this Thursday afternoon. And, we are going to line up with another ML favorite in Cyawouldntwanabeya (5) in the 5th race this afternoon.
This 3YO Kentucky-bred filly is by the great sire Into Mischief and is trained by Brian Lynch, who has coached home 4 winners, a second and a third in just 9 starts here this meet. That figures to a win percentage of a hefty .44%. Nice. This one nearly pulled off the win here last time out, going 6 furlongs in the slop. Was 2nd best that day. Florent Geroux ships in for the mount, again, and this one should be salty in this spot.
I bet $20 to win today. Join with us. We are trying to build our cash reserves to help the homeless veterans in the Indy-area. Whatever total we have built by the end of the meet will go to this worthy cause, which means so much to Horseshoe’s own VP for Racing, Eric Halstrom, and all those that have helped this worthy cause throughout the years.
