We are back.

Back from vacation. And, what a Va-Kay it was. My lady, Leigh, knows how to schedule a good time and, better yet, how to deliver one. We went to Utah and made our way to Arizona. We covered the “Fantastic Five” National Parks and saw “The Arches;” “Canyonland;” (which I called Candyland, after the board game, mind you); Brice Canyon; “The Narrows,” and my most favorite, “Weeping Rock.” I do a lot of weeping, you see, and I’m sure you do, too, from time to time. We finished up with a train ride to the Grand Canyon. The train ride was spectacular. I love trains. Got my first toy one when I was about 5 years old. Kept it all my life and gave it, lovingly, to my oldest two grandsons, Ford and Jack. Hope they keep it, too.

But we digress. Wow. Can you tell I loved that Va-Kay?

Back to reality.

Back to picking horses.

Back to trying to make a living.

And, back, today, to help raise some money for those that deserve it the most — the homeless veterans in the Indy-area.

We won our last race and now we are on the cusp of generating $1,000 from our “Donation Plays of the Day.” I hope we break that barrier today.

Now, we will go with Yes Indeed (8) in the 8th race at Horseshoe today. This 4YO filly Bolt d’Oro is trained by the very talented and gifted Cherrie DeVaux, who has won 3 of 7 races this meet. That rounds out to a win percentage of 43%. Not bad. And, this one returns as a beaten favorite here on July 14. Cherrie wins with 39% of the last 54 that come back as a beaten fan’s choice. Gets an accomplished grass rider up here, who has won half of his mounts for this barn in the last two months.

Adds up for me.

Let’s back this filly. I go with a $20 win-place ticket. Let’s go.

I hope you join along.

Giving is fun. Especially when you can help someone who has done so much to help us.
