(Our Wednesday at Churchill Downs for Kentucky Derby Week 150. Amazing)

On Wednesday, the lovely Leigh Ann and I celebrated Kentucky Derby 150 with a special “Day at the Races.” We — along with 10 of our very best buddies and pals — got to see Churchill Downs like never before.

The Magnificent New Paddock: from the ground up.

The Homestretch Club: from the rail up.

The Drinks: bottoms up.

While on our visit to the brand new Paddock — which is unlike anything you have ever seen in this country at a racetrack and is the most amazing frame the Twin Spires has ever received — my great friend, Dave “Buzz” Baker and I got to do our first video “Thought of the Day.”

I am so blessed to have so many great people in my life. But Buzz Baker — who is in the Kentucky Broadcasting Hall of Fame — sits at the Round Table.

Ever since the beginning of “The Pressbox,” he has been my host and my friend each week on our “Saturday Racing Preview Show.” In-between episodes, Buzz has been my constant friend, companion, supporter and guiding light.

He is a great professional. He is a better friend.
