Thanksgiving Day is a day for fun, family, a little football and a whole lot of fillies splashing through a day of the races at Churchill Downs. Well, a few colts and geldings, too, but we were going for the alliteration.

For our very own Holly M. Smith, who just got home from sunny Florida and a little family time of her own, it was a day for mud baths, mud splashes, muddy horses, and muddy camera equipment. Did I mention “mud?”

Here’s a few of her looks through the rain drops and turned the Churchill Downs main track into something that looked a lot like the gravy that most of us dabbed on our turkey breast, mashed potatoes and the dressing. Can’t forget the dressing.
