Well, well, well.
“The Pressbox’s” first rankings for the 151st Kentucky Derby appeared last Monday. Last Saturday morning, we touted two of our top three picks in our weekly “Saturday Racing Preview Show,” with host Dave Baker. And, last Saturday afternoon, we were validated.
Big time.
In short, our selections ran, well…
Well, well, well.
Really well, well, well.
Our top pick, Sovereignty made his 2025 debut by winning the G2 Fountain of Youth Stakes with an impressive sweeping flash of speed in the stretch.
A little bit later in the day, our third pick, Journalism, upset the highly acclaimed Barnes to capture the G2 San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita, with a closing punch out of his own.
And, to make things even better, neither of our selections were the favorites and we hit the “exactas,” as well.
Well, well, well.
Now, it is time to turn the page and look ahead, as the preps for this year’s running for those beautiful red roses start to heat and pile up, all at the same time.
