GRADE II WINNER KEHOE BEACH RETURNS TO ACTION IN RESCHEDULED $125,000 WISHING WELL STAKES
FLORENCE, Ky. (Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026) – Thomas Bachman’s Grade II winner Kehoe Beach will return to action from a five-month freshening when she faces 10 fillies and mares entered in Friday’s rescheduled $125,000 Wishing Well Stakes at Turfway Park Racing & Gaming.
Carded at 6 ½ furlongs, the Wishing Well Stakes is the featured race on the 10-race program. First post is 5:55 p.m. (all times Eastern) with the Wishing Well going as Race 8 at 9:25 p.m.
Trained by Wesley Ward, Kehoe Beach was a gate-to-wire winner in the 2024 edition of the Mrs. Revere Stakes (GII) at Churchill Downs. A speedy daughter of Omaha Beach, Kehoe Beach has won four of her 11-career starts while banking $555,355 in purse earnings. Jockey Luan Machado has the mount in Friday’s race and will break from post No. 4.
One of Kehoe Beach’s top rivals in the race appears to be last year’s Wishing Well Stakes winner Lithe Spirit. Owned in partnership by Bradley Thoroughbreds, Gainesway Stable, Laura Leigh Stable, Scott Estes and Cambron Equine, Lithe Spirit is a three-time winner over the Turfway Park surface including her 1 ¼-length victory in last year’s edition of this race. JockeyJoe Ramos retains the mount on the Steve Asmussen trainee and will exit post 2.
The field for the Wishing Well from the rail out (with jockey, trainer and morning line odds):
- Sea Runner (Martin Garcia, Bill Morey, 12-1)
- Lithe Spirit (Ramos, Asmussen, 5-1)
- My Lil Punky (Rafael Hernandez, Cherie DeVaux, 15-1)

The Wishing Well Stakes was originally carded for Saturday, Jan. 24 and then again on Friday, Jan. 30, but both times was postponed due to inclement weather.
