SWIFT DELIVERY LOOKS TO BEGIN AGAIN IN $125,000 BOONE COUNTY STAKES
FLORENCE, Ky. (Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025) – Gary Barber, Team Valor International, Travis Kelce, Bruce Zoldan and Steven Rocco’s Grade III winner Swift Delivery will attempt to shake off his recent fourth-place finish in the Autumn Stakes (GIII) when he faces 10 rivals entered in Saturday’s $125,000 Boone County Stakes at Turfway Park Racing & Gaming.
The Boone County Stakes, a new addition to the Turfway Park stakes schedule this year, will be contested at 1 ¼ miles in Race 7 of 10 with a post time of 8:55 p.m. (all times Eastern). First post is 5:55 p.m.
Trained by Mark Casse, Swift Delivery scored a two-length victory on Aug. 2 in the Seagram Cup (GIII) at Woodbine. The son of Not This Time has won four of his 16 lifetime starts while banking $237,429 in purses and will try to show he can stay, stay, stay while stretching out to 1 ¼ miles for the first time. He’ll be ridden by Fernando De La Cruz from post No. 10.
Trouble may come from PTK LLC’s Safe Trip Home, winner of the Colonial Cup on Sept. 6 at Colonial Downs. Trained by Doug Cowans, Safe Trip Home enters the Boone County following a runner-up effort in the Sycamore (GII) at Keeneland. The 5-year-old gelded son of More Than Ready will be ridden by Manny Esquivel from post 6.
Other notable contenders include Three Chimneys Farm’s Grade III winner Funtastic Again; David Bernsen, Tony Holmes, Michael Holmes, Leo Dooley and Sarah Dooley’s multiple Grade II runner-up Common Defense; Gary Barber and Kinsman Stable’s 2024 Knicks Go (Listed) winnerStrong Quality; and Ribble Farms and Lighthouse Racing’s graded stakes winner Honor Marie.
